Welcome to Pass Christian High School, Home of the Pirates!
Dear Pirate Parents & Students,
I am excited to serve as principal at Pass Christian High School. It is an honor to lead a school with such a longstanding history in academics, athletics, and the arts. We are excited about the 2024/2025 school year and look forward to continuing to provide a challenging academic environment in which all students are accepted, valued, and safe. Plans are in place for this year to be one of the best ever!
Pass Christian High School, with a current enrollment of approximately 600, is an “A” rated school by the Mississippi Department of Education and has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as being one of the best high schools in the nation. Pass High students' average ACT score is 20.8, compared to a state average of 17.3 and a national average of 20.6. Since the inception PSAT program at Pass High, we have had twenty-seven National Merit Finalist award recipients. Pass High is proud to provide opportunities for students excelling academically to participate in distinguished organizations such as the National Honor Society, French Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Beta Club, and Student Council.
Pass Christian High School lives by the same mission statement as does our district, "Committed to Excellence". Our beliefs, incorporating stakeholder input from surveys, are "Students excel when... Curriculum is challenging and progressive; All are Actively engaged in the learning process; All have an equal opportunity to learn; Learning is a shared responsibility; Held to clearly defined, high expectations; and All are accepted, valued, and safe.”
Renaissance, a Josten's philosophy of respect, recognition, and reward, is a guiding principle at Pass High. The benefits of this philosophy enhance our school culture by having a positive impact on students, faculty, and staff members. Many activities are in place to allow students and teachers to celebrate and be celebrated! Just to name a few, our school hosts Block Parties; Praise Referral Luncheons; HAT Parties; Birthday Brigades; Attendance Incentives; Renaissance 9-week Award Rallies; Inspirational Teacher Recognition; Advanced Placement (AP) Have a Heart Party; One Smart Cookie ACT Improvement board; Student, Athlete, and Artist of the Month t-shirts and recognition; a variety of clubs including Interact, Knitting, FCA, Dance, Envirothon Club, GSA, FCCLA, Renaissance, and more. All special events are strategically organized to protect instructional time. Additionally, many of our students participate in off-campus JROTC and Career Technical Education Programs through partnerships with neighboring districts.
The teachers, staff, and administration at Pass Christian High School are committed to providing a high-quality education, along with relevant opportunities, that will meet the needs and interests of all students. Each educator works to do what is best for students and to provide an optimal learning environment. As your principal, I challenge each and every student to take full advantage of all that is offered here at Pass High so that you can make your high school life successful, enjoyable, and most importantly, meaningful. I truly believe that all students have the ability and the potential to accomplish great things! Let’s make this the best year ever at PCHS!
Once a Pirate Always a Pirate!
